Perfectly positioned for discovering all that the Northumberland coast has to offer, this holiday cottage is also available as a lovely, well-proportioned ground floor, one bedroom property for up to two Guests, The Coastguard's Snug . The cottage is located in Craster, a fishing village with a picturesque harbour, a local gastro-pub (The Jolly Fisherman), an art gallery, a coffee shop, a Castle and direct access onto England's Coastal Path; Craster is also the home of the famous smoked kippers!
From here you can follow the coastal pathway up to Dunstanburgh Castle (1.5 miles), a striking heritage location that’s managed by English Heritage. Another attraction close by is Howick Hall (2.5 miles), a delectable country house with marvellous gardens, the home of the Grey family, you can enjoy a pot of Earl Grey in their lovely tea rooms. For a typical beach day, there’s a very small stretch of sand right here at Craster but you'll want to visit Embleton Beach (2.5 miles) and Longhoughton (Sugar Sands) (5.5 miles) to name just a few.
Reclaimed wood fittings, stylish furnishings and a quirky interior make this holiday cottage a real gem on the Northumberland coast. Head inside, you’ll find ample space in the hallway to leave coats and shoes after time on the beach. Step on through to the kitchen/diner/sitting area and you'll find an exposed brick fireplace, home to a wood burner for cosy nights in; a Smart TV (to watch your own subscription channels) and exceptionally comfortable sofas to sink into when relaxing. The kitchen is a generously proportioned room with slate flooring, reclaimed wooden fixtures and a Belfast sink. As well as a utility room and a handy downstairs WC, the ground floor also has a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, making the ground floor a perfect space for up to two Guests.
There is a small bistro table outside the backdoor for a quick morning coffe, but the special outside space is a bit further along the row of private gardens and from the Coastguard Cottage garden you can admire views across the harbour, fantastic for those warmer afternoons and evenings.
NB: The First Floor with further bedrooms and bathrooms is unavailable to Guests taking it as a one-bedroom cottage (The Coastguard's Snug) For extra space it should be booked as The Coastguard Cottage.

There is a designated lawned area and raised deck area with picnic style table at the end of the row of private garden spaces, overlooking the harbour. There is a further bistro table and two chairs immediately outside the back door.
The staircase to the first floor should not be accessed if you have booked this property as the one bedroom 'The Coastguard's Snug. There is a ground floor king size bedroom with ensuite, that would mean that the ground floor has slight lips between rooms and into the shower and a step up at the front and back doors but is otherwise on one level. The deck area outside is raised and has a steps up to it and the lawn is sloped.
There is space for one car immediately outside the property.
Arrival and departure days are Monday or Friday.
